Job Title: Personal Injury Paralegal

Job Responsibilities:
The Personal Injury Paralegal will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in personal injury litigation. Key duties include:

- Delivering courteous, effective, and timely service to clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties to ensure smooth communication flow throughout the case.
- Opening and maintaining both physical and electronic case files, as well as managing pleading, discovery, and document logs.
- Processing expenses and performing other administrative functions as necessary.
- Prioritizing multiple projects and managing a heavy workload to ensure progress on each case and meet applicable deadlines.
- Preparing and proofreading correspondence, such as letters or emails, to various parties involved in cases, including clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies, medical providers, and court personnel.
- Preparing and proofreading legal documents to ensure they are formatted in compliance with court rules and are well-written, applying knowledge of standard legal formats, terminology, citations, English, grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Maintaining calendars and scheduling meetings, including arranging meeting locations and making necessary arrangements for court reporters and technology setups.
- Maintaining and calendaring all court and office deadlines to ensure timely compliance.
- Requesting, receiving, reviewing, and indexing medical records and billing statements.
- Utilizing word processing software to type, format, edit, and finalize legal documents and other written materials, ensuring they are properly formatted and error-free.
- Managing databases using case management software to maintain electronic files.
- Applying knowledge of legal terminology effectively to perform job duties.
- Performing typing/keyboard tasks with speed and accuracy.
- Occasionally moving file boxes or heavier materials with assistance, and frequently moving light objects.

Education and Experience Information:
The ideal candidate should have:

- A minimum of 3+ years of litigation experience, specifically in plaintiff’s personal injury.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to exercise tact and discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
- Reliability, versatility, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities, capable of efficiently prioritizing a broad range of responsibilities, managing multiple workloads, and consistently meeting deadlines.
- The ability to draft pleadings and discovery documents throughout all phases of litigation.
- Understanding of medical records and medical billing statements.
- The ability to maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files for easy retrieval and collaboration.
- Knowledge of law, legal procedures, protocols, and state and federal court systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, Acrobat/Adobe Pro, and Adobe Signature.
- Preferred qualifications include knowledge of legal software applications for document management and case tracking, experience gathering medical records and billing statements, familiarity with trial and hearing preparation, knowledge of Minnesota No-fault insurance and arbitration process, and familiarity with Minnesota, Wisconsin, and federal court rules and procedures. Familiarity with artificial intelligence and experience working with AI technology to streamline litigation procedures is also preferred.

Salary Information:
The position offers a competitive salary range of $60,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
