Experienced Litigation Paralegal The candidate will be calendaring and Scheduling. Calendaring is absolutely critical to any support staff function, and this is the function in which there can be zero mistakes. Reviewing, organizing, and analyzing discovery helps the trial team prepare for depositions, injunction hearings, and trials. will include performing an analysis of financial documents (bank account, receipts, property records, itemizing checks, drafts, etc.) on Excel, reviewing contracts and other documents evidencing the transaction that failed, and creating an analytical chronology of the significant events in the case. Drafting Customized Discovery. Draft interrogatories, requests for production, requests for admissions, and disclosures, as well as prepare and issue discovery to third parties based on the live pleadings in the case. Drafting. Prepare basic initial drafts of Original Petitions, Complaints, Motions for Continuance, and other non-dispositive motions. Be familiar with MS 365 Cloud Based Office Suites - Word; Excel; PowerPoint. Must be able to bill your time, contemporaneously with your task, on Clio (cloud-based billing software); load documents on Trial Director, and be able to present those documents at injunction hearings and trials; be asked to research cases on Westlaw. Should have an initial zoom interview and then be asked to complete tasks at our office, to evaluate skill sets. Must have experience in filing in federal (Pacer) and State Courts. Must also record internal due dates and procedural response dates for documents received through PACER, Next Gen ECF, and District E-Filing programs, and monitor those deadlines. must be familiar with relevant deadlines in the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure; Federal Rules of Civil Procedure; local rules (for setting hearings in the various counties in which our attorney practice), etc.
