Patent Specialist for Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP - Full-Time - Locations: Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Houston, Dallas, or Denver

Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP, a large international law firm, is seeking a Patent Specialist for their Intellectual Property Department. This position will be located in one of their offices in Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Houston, Dallas, or Denver. The patent specialist will be responsible for providing support on US patent prosecution and other patent matters. They will work closely with attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure a high level of service and efficiency. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement plans, as well as holidays and paid time off. The firm also offers hybrid work schedules, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work days.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide US patent prosecution support and collaborate with attorneys, patent specialists, paralegals, and clients.
- Prepare and file US and PCT patent applications, responses, and issue fees, both electronically and on paper.
- Draft correspondence to clients regarding the status of patent applications and other patent matters.
- Report USPTO and PCT correspondence and notifications.
- Manage client portfolios, including preparing and maintaining status reports and acting as a single point of contact for clients.
- Review and file documents and emails in the firm's document management system.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Provide administrative support for patent-related tasks.
- Support client services, including preparing reports, coordinating meetings, and communicating with client patent paralegals.
- Maintain accurate daily time records for client billing.

Requirements:

- Minimum of two years' experience as a patent prosecution paralegal, legal secretary, or similar position in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
- Experience with USPTO electronic filing procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of USPTO and PCT rules and procedures.
- High level of proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other research tools.
- Good working knowledge of timekeeping software and document management systems.
- Excellent client service skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and take on assignments.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Respectful, reliable, and dependable team player.
- Detail-oriented and able to organize and prioritize.
- Action and results-oriented.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Salary Information:

- North Carolina: to per hour.
- Georgia and Texas: to per hour.
- Colorado: to per hour.
