Advice to law firm management: Treat everyone fairly and equally, stop playing favorites. Stop client poaching and lying about compensation. Make litigators actually work for their pay instead of being supported by harder working patent prosecutors..

Pros: Good selection of technology based clients (Visa), some good attorneys. Multiple locations. Interesting work in a variety of areas. Can be a good place to learn craft.

Cons: The firm regularly funnels work (both new and existing clients, even those brought to the firm by others) to a few select "favorites" and takes advantage of everyone else. Client redistribution (formerly known as poaching) is rampant, as is rewarding favorites who do very little. Non-litigators are at a severe disadvantage even though they contribute the most.

Partners to Avoid and Why: not willing to name names - don't feel comfortable singling anyone out. But, patent litigators from the SF office are likely to be overpaid and under-performing.

Favorite Things About this Firm: interesting clients, some good attorneys, multiple locations, little else of a positive nature compared to other firms. reasonable but not great compensation
