Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal

The candidate must possess a minimum of five (5) years prior experience in managing a Plaintiff’s personal injury caseload. Our ideal candidate will also possess superb interpersonal skills, unquestionable integrity, self-discipline, the ability to adapt to changes in processes and procedures, be detail-oriented, self-motivated, a team-player, the ability to multi-task, be an excellent communicator (written and verbal), have knowledge of TrialWorks Case Management Software and be proficient in all Microsoft Office Suite programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (includes but may not be limited to the following):

Ability to manage all aspects of personal injury cases from beginning to end
Gather, analyze, and research information and documents
Educate the client on case progression and set appropriate client expectations
Escalate issues to the attorney as necessary
Monitor negotiations and offers
Coordinate client sign-outs
Communicating and corresponding with clients, lien holders, providers and others in the legal community;
Maintaining client files;
Calculate and manage deadlines;
Review, analyze and summarize case files and medical records;
Review, draft and file legal documents such as discovery responses, motions, complaints, and other pleadings for attorneys;
Assisting attorneys with preparation of cases for trial
Attending trial with attorneys and assisting throughout trial
Preparing various legal documents
Other duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Associate Degree, required Paralegal Certification; preferred A minimum of 5 years of Personal Injury (Plaintiff) experience, required Litigation experience required Complex Litigation and Personal Injury experience a plus SKILLS REQUIRED: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) TrialWorks Case Management Software experience preferred Proficiency with computers, telephone lines, and other related office equipment Must have strong organizational skills; be able to follow instructions, switch tasks quickly and meet deadlines. Must exercise sound judgment, work independently, and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues. Professional attitude and appearance Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent planning and reporting skills Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks Customer service attitude Follow up skills Ability to handle and keep client information confidential Proficiency with legal administration and writing BEHAVIORS REQUIRED: Sense of urgency Ability to make judgement calls Expected to be highly accurate Ability to learn and adapt quickly A positive outlook and vision Must stand by the service we deliver Lifelong learner who enjoys improving knowledge Strong professionalism both in appearance and presentation Can work independently Ability to direct and facilitate conversations Working in a well-lighted, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation Using close/distant/peripheral and depth perception
