Patent Agent - Join a Leading Law Firm in Philadelphia!

Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking experienced and highly motivated Patent Agents to join our Intellectual Property Services group. This is an exciting opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in electrical engineering or biotechnology who have a passion for patent law. We are looking for individuals who are driven, detail-oriented, and have a strong understanding of patent law and procedures. As a Patent Agent at Armstrong Teasdale, you will work closely with inventors to identify patentable inventions, research current technologies, and draft patent applications. You will also have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced patent attorneys and gain valuable experience in patent prosecution.

Responsibilities:

- Work closely with inventors on new product ideas
- Identify patentable inventions
- Research current patented technologies to assist clients with patentable work
- Draft patent applications with the guidance of the patent team
- Track the patent application process and ensure deadlines are met
- Conduct patentability searches
- Solve client challenges and respond to their needs
- Respond to office actions and communicate with the . Patent and Trademark Office
- Meet billable hour requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in science or engineering
- Master's degree or PhD preferred
- USPTO registration required
- 3+ years of professional experience in patent law
- Strong decision-making skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changes
- Team player who values diversity and inclusion

Physical Requirements:

This position requires sitting for prolonged periods and working on a computer.
