- Seeking experienced litigation paralegal for hybrid or remote position
- Must have experience in fast-paced defense firm with focus on civil litigation
- Emphasis on personal injury and construction law
- Will support Chicago, Nashville, and Houston offices in Central region
- Ability to assist attorneys with discovery and motions
- Manage trial preparation and coordination
- Obtain, organize, and summarize medical and other records
- Meet billable requirement
- Work as part of a team with all levels of experience
- Paralegal certification required
- Minimum 3-5 years experience as a litigation paralegal
- Solid understanding of civil litigation and state/federal deadlines and rules
- Experience in Illinois, Tennessee, and/or Texas preferred
- Experience with time management and insurance defense matters preferred
- High proficiency in MS Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

position responsibilities:



· ability to assist attorneys with propounding and responding to discovery (interrogatories, requests for admissions, and request for production, subpoenas, and preparing deposition binders) and motions (preparation of any supporting documents and exhibits, and preparing hearing binders)

· ability to manage trial preparation including: coordination of witnesses and travel, trial exhibits, charts, trial notebook, subpoenas, and page line summaries

· independently obtain, organize, review, and summarize medical records/medical billings, employment or other records, calculate damages including medical expenses, lost wages and property damage

· meet bi-annual billable requirement

· work as part of a team with all levels of experience

· routine communications with clients, experts, and attorneys about case status and preparation



position requirements:



· paralegal certification

· minimum of 3-5 years experience as a litigation paralegal

· solid understanding of civil litigation (state and federal deadlines and rules)

· experience in one or more of the states you will support (illinois, tennessee, and/or texas)

· experience entering your time into a time management system

· experience handling insurance defense matters preferred

· high proficiency in ms suite, specifically word, powerpoint and outlook and adobe acrobat

· ability to think and act independently and with minimal supervision

· articulate, organized and a team player with excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills

· highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

· professional appearance and demeanor
