The MWRA is seeking a Senior Staff Counsel – Labor & Employment to handle legal matters in the areas of labor, employment, wage and hour, unemployment, administrative, arbitration, and litigation. The work includes legal counseling and analysis; representation of the MWRA in litigation before state and federal courts, administrative proceedings, and grievance arbitrations; legal research; collective bargaining; drafting memoranda, pleadings, and other legal documents; and supervising legal support staff.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree, a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school, and an understanding of labor and employment law acquired by at least three (3) to six (6) years of relevant legal experience, preferably in the public sector. At the date of hire, the successful candidate must be admitted in good standing to the bar to practice law in the state and federal courts in Massachusetts.
Salary Range: $1716.49 - $2626.51 Weekly (Starting salary commensurate with experience)
