H2: Responsibilities and Qualifications Law Firm is seeking an experienced Immigration Paralegal to join our team. This position will be responsible for preparing and filing employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant matters, as well as providing support to the Immigration Manager. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of legal requirements and experience using immigration case management software. Responsibilities: - Initiate cases based on instructions from attorneys and/or clients - Evaluate new cases to determine eligibility and escalate any issues to attorneys - Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary information and documents for case initiation - Prepare immigration forms and supporting documents for filing with government agencies - Coordinate with providers for translations or evaluations of documents in languages other than English - Post ads and monitor run dates for PERM applications - Assist attorneys in preparing responses to government requests for evidence or audits - Write invitation or support letters for global petitions - Heavy client contact via telephone and email - Recognize and escalate issues to attorneys as needed - Manage cases for non-immigrant, PERM labor certification, immigrant petition, and adjustment of status - Run reports to monitor case status and expirations and initiate extensions when necessary - Update foreign national immigration information in database - Record tasks in INTAPP Qualifications: - 4+ years of corporate immigration experience - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and immigration case management software - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written - Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills - Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing deadlines and workload - Strong research skills - Substantive understanding of legal requirements and supporting documentation for business immigration filings - Paralegal certificate or higher education preferred Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, advanced degree in related field or paralegal certificate highly desirable.
