The Sheppard Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Litigation Secretary/Practice Specialist I to join our Support at Sheppard Department. This is a full-time, remote/hybrid position with the expectation to be in the office on an as-needed basis. The ideal candidate will have at least 6 years of experience providing litigation support, with extensive knowledge of e-filings, trial procedures, and federal and state court rules. The candidate should also possess excellent technical, organizational, and administrative skills, as well as strong interpersonal relationships skills. H1: Join Our Team as a Litigation Secretary/Practice Specialist I at an Am Law 50 Law Firm H2: Immediate Opening for Experienced Litigation Secretary/Practice Specialist I at Sheppard Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP Responsibilities include: Formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, scanning, and transmitting legal documents Preparing pleading and discovery documents for filing and service eFiling in state, federal, and appellate courts Creating litigation binders and organizing case documents Utilizing docketing/calendaring systems to track court and filing deadlines Assisting with overflow work and other projects as assigned Maintaining client confidentiality Typing at least 75 wpm with excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation Learning new skills and systems quickly Performing additional administrative and support tasks as requested Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of 6 years of litigation experience in a law firm Preferred experience in California litigation Some college courses completed; Bachelor's degree preferred Secretarial certification a plus; ABA approved Paralegal Certification preferred The ideal candidate will also have proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document management and other office technologies. They must also have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times. This is a remote/hybrid position with the expectation to be in the office on an as-needed basis. The work schedule is Monday-Friday from 6:00 PM-2:30 AM (Central Time)/7:00 PM-3:30 AM (Eastern Time), with potential for overtime as needed.
