Overview:

Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick (CCK) is a private, public-interest law firm that specializes in helping disabled military veterans and their families, as well as individuals who have been denied life, health, and disability benefits. We are seeking a Claims Advocate/Paralegal to join our growing team.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct research, review client files, and prepare assessments in support of clients' cases
- Draft development, claims, arguments, appeals, and motions for clients' cases
- Prioritize and complete tasks assigned in a timely manner to ensure high-quality service to clients
- Conduct interviews and draft declarations with clients and third parties
- Update case management files with all pertinent information
- Attend training sessions and stay up-to-date on pertinent case law
- Coordinate with team members to accomplish workload objectives
- Assist with training of new team members as needed

Requirements:

- High School degree required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- 2+ years of related experience and/or training preferred but not required
- Fluency in English; Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Demonstrated leadership skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Proficiency with standard office equipment and software

Work Schedule/Hours:

This is a full-time position with a Monday-Friday schedule, either 8:00 . to 4:30 . EST or 8:30 . to 5:00 . EST with a 30-minute lunch period.

Compensation & Benefits:

- Starting annual salary of $42,500
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance options (including employer-paid medical insurance for the employee!)
- Gym membership reimbursement
- 15 days of PTO (increasing over time) plus 13 paid company holidays in 2024
- 35 Work from Home Days per year
- 401k matching
- Paid Parental Leave

Additional Details:

- Onsite positions available in Providence, RI and Houston, TX, or remote options in CO, CT, FL, GA, MA, NJ, RI, SC, TX, UT
- 1-month paid training and routine refresher trainings provided
- Reliable internet connection and router required for remote work
