Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is seeking a Patent Agent/Technical Specialist to join their award-winning Intellectual Property Practice Group. This position is responsible for preparing, filing, and prosecuting patent applications before the US Patent and Trademark Office.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing, filing and prosecuting patent applications
- Performing prior art searches and analysis
- Patentability analysis
- IP due diligence
- Engaging in practice development activities to build and maintain client relationships
- Preparing substantive client correspondence
- Instructing local counsel for foreign filings and Office Actions
- Assisting in patent clearance studies and other patent-related opinion projects
- Applying advanced concepts in any life sciences field, with particular emphasis and/or expertise in molecular biology, cell biology, and/or biochemistry
- Studying and analyzing scientific or technical documents
- Converting prior provisional applications into utility applications
- Converting foreign filed applications into US applications
- Converting US applications into foreign applications

Requirements:
- Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in a biological field
- 1 year of experience as a practicing patent agent in the field of life sciences or 2 years professional experience in life sciences
- Registered to practice before the US Patent and Trademark Office
- Excellent writing and research abilities
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication
- Strong organizational skills
