Bullet Points:
- Seeking a Patent Paralegal to support attorneys and agents in the Intellectual Property group at Ice Miller LLP
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain strict confidentiality
- Salary in New York ranges from $80,000 to $120,000, depending on experience level
- Responsibilities include assisting with preparation, filing, prosecution, and maintenance of patent applications and patents in US, PCT, and foreign jurisdictions
- Must be knowledgeable of electronic filing systems and able to manage worldwide client patent portfolios
- Familiarity with MPEP and ability to research for procedural questions
- Must have extensive knowledge of US, PCT, and foreign patent procedure and formality requirements
- Able to prepare corrective patent documents and handle formalities responses with minimal attorney oversight
- Experience with preparing IDS, analyzing patent families, and preparing foreign filing cost estimates
- Responsible for paying maintenance fees and other renewal/annuity costs
- Ability to prepare reports, charts, and other lists of patent-related information upon client or attorney request
- Must be able to proactively manage patent prosecution dockets and monitor dates associated with US and foreign patent prosecution
- Support IP team members with special projects and overflow of routine responsibilities
- Maintain electronic files and ensure all documents and correspondence are properly stored
- Must have a high school diploma and a minimum of three years of patent administration or paralegal experience, preferably in a law firm
- Additional knowledge of trademark prosecution and/or IP litigation experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Pro required, familiarity with CPi docketing software a plus
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work in high pressure environments
- Must be proactive and able to identify and address problems quickly
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States
