Job Title: US In-House Employee Benefits Counsel (Part Time)

Experience: Minimum of 8 years as an attorney with retirement and welfare benefit plans

Location: Chicago, Washington ., or New York

- We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a commitment to excellence to join our Benefits department as a Part Time US In-House Employee Benefits Counsel.

Responsibilities:

- Advise on legal regulations and requirements for Health and Welfare, Cash Balance Plan, 401(k) Plan, Partner Unfunded Plan, Health and Disability plans, and Leave of Absence plans.
- Draft and review Summary Plan Descriptions and Administrative Services Agreements.
- Review plan communications to participants and draft plan amendments.
- Advise on tax issues related to retirement and health and welfare plans.
- Work with investment committees, recordkeepers, actuaries, and auditors.
- Stay updated on legal developments related to retirement and health and welfare plans and work with the Firm's leadership and HR to implement changes.
- Partner with . Benefits and other Firm attorneys to develop significant design changes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- . degree from an accredited law school in the .
- Admission as a current member in good standing of a State Bar where the position is located.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience as an attorney with retirement and welfare benefit plans.
- Strong understanding of tax and ERISA requirements and federal regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
