Job Summary:
- Organization is seeking a Child Support Officer III-IV to join their team in promoting responsible parenting and ensuring children in Texas receive the support they need and deserve.
- As a Child Support Officer III-IV, you will conduct investigations, establish paternity, obtain court orders for financial support, and collaborate with state agencies and community organizations to serve Texas families.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed investigations to locate absent parents, verify employment and determine assets.
- Prepare legal and administrative documents to establish or enforce child support orders.
- Negotiate lump sum payments and out-of-court settlements with noncustodial parents.
- Monitor child support cases and refer delinquent cases for enforcement.
- Document all case actions using appropriate agency tools and review and maintain child support virtual files for accuracy.
- Attend court to assist legal staff, as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of child support policies and procedures, Texas Family Law, federal regulations, and other states' IV-D regulations.
- Assess child support cases and explain policies and procedures to customers.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints with impartiality.
- Serve as Notary Public and perform related work as assigned.
- Maintain relevant knowledge necessary to perform essential job functions and comply with agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Child Support Officer III:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or experience in related fields may be substituted.
- One year of full-time experience in related fields.
- Knowledge of investigative practices and techniques.
- Skills in interviewing, negotiating, using a personal computer, basic mathematical computations, handling multiple tasks, and effective communication.
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, provide excellent customer service, and lift and relocate 30 lbs.
- Must be able to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated work space, and arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel.
- Must be able to work over 40 hours as needed and travel up to 5%.

Child Support Officer IV:
- All minimum qualifications for Child Support Officer III, plus one additional year of full-time experience as a Child Support Officer or equivalent position.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
- Knowledge of investigative practices and techniques.
- Ability to proficiently read, write, and speak Spanish.

- Salary is paid on a monthly basis.

Experience Information:
