Dorsey & Whitney LLP is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join the Trademark, Copyright and Brand Management department in the Minneapolis office. The ideal candidate will have three to five years of experience in the intellectual property field.

**Job Description:**

The Trademark Associate will work primarily on trademark and copyright matters, including:

- Trademark strategy, clearance, prosecution, and enforcement matters, domestic and international
- Copyright strategy, analysis and filings
- Handling digital content issues such as fair use, URDP complaints and online enforcement and take down requests
- Drafting intellectual property related agreements such as licenses and rights transfer agreements
- Assistance with due diligence in purchase, sale, and financing transactions that relate to intellectual property assets
- Handling of opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (with litigation support as needed)
- Work on advertising, marketing and unfair competition matters

**Qualifications:**

- Three to five years of intellectual property experience in the trademark and copyright field
- Exemplary organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Track record of successfully managing client projects and deadlines with independence
- Experience with client interactions and direct communications
- Excellent analytical and writing skills
- Strong academic performance
- Minnesota bar admission

**Preferred Qualifications:**

- Experience on intellectual property agreements (in addition to licensing)
- Experience in advertising, contest or sweepstakes matters
