Law Firm Seeking Registered Patent Attorney or Patent Agent in Chemistry Department for Full-Time Position in Rochester, . Overview: Woods Oviatt Gilman, LLP is looking for a highly qualified Registered Patent Attorney or Patent Agent to join our Intellectual Property team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chemistry and at least 4 years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution. They must also be admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Responsibilities: - Prepare and prosecute patent applications before the USPTO - Conduct prior art searches and draft opinions on patentability and clearance - Collaborate with inventors, engineers, and other client stakeholders - Support internal teams on various intellectual property matters Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or similar technical background - 4+ years of experience in patent application drafting and prosecution - Admitted to practice before the USPTO - Excellent writing and oral communication skills - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Proficiency in MS Office and computer-assisted legal resources - High standards of performance and a strong work ethic - Professional, cooperative, positive, and flexible attitude - Well-developed interpersonal and client relation skills Other Duties/Salary Range: This job description is not intended to cover a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, and responsibilities required for this position.
