As a full-time Paralegal, you will work directly with our attorneys to provide support in various legal matters. Job Title: Paralegal Reports To: Director of Administration, with dotted line to assigned Attorneys FLSA Status: Non-exempt Full/Part Time: Full Time Summary: As a Paralegal, you will be responsible for conducting legal research, investigating facts, and preparing documents to assist our attorneys in delivering high-quality legal services to our clients. You will also be responsible for monitoring state and federal regulations, ensuring proper document management, and communicating with clients and other parties involved in legal matters. Responsibilities: • Assist with the preparation and filing of pleadings and briefs, including proofreading, editing, fact-checking, and adherence to citation guidelines • Conduct research in both internal and external databases and summarize findings for attorneys • Draft applications, responses to requests for information, extension requests, and other legal documents • Monitor state and federal regulations impacting clients • Ensure proper document management and organization • Calculate and calendar deadlines for attorneys and practice groups • Communicate with clients, consultants, and attorneys on client matters • Draft and update attorney presentations • E-File and E-serve case documents • Time and billing management Requirements: • Certificate from accredited Paralegal Studies program and/or Masters in Legal Studies • Associate of Arts or equivalent college experience • Excellent writing skills • High level of ethical conduct and ability to maintain confidentiality • Strong communication skills and ability to work with all levels of internal and external clients • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications: • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a law firm environment • Bachelor’s Degree • Experience with Westlaw or LexisNexis • Knowledge of state administrative agencies Salary Information: The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
