Our team of over 3,000 employees is united by one mission: For the People. We are currently seeking an experienced Bilingual Litigation Paralegal to join our team in Lakeland, Florida. As a Litigation Paralegal at Morgan & Morgan, you will play a crucial role in supporting our attorneys before, during, and after trials. Your responsibilities will include preparing legal documents, conducting research and investigations, communicating with clients and other parties, and assisting with case settlements. Responsibilities: - Prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and complaints - E-file court documents in state and federal courts - Communicate with clients, court, counsel, and other parties - Conduct legal research and factual investigations - Prepare discovery documents and responses - Draft and serve summons - Coordinate and summarize depositions - Prepare trial binders and exhibits - Assist with drafting pleadings, motions, and appellate documents - Perform administrative duties, such as calendaring hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics - Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes - Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices - Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests - Gather relevant information from various sources - Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties - Prepare witnesses for trial - Assist with case settlements - Other tasks as requested by the attorney Requirements: - Bilingual - Spanish and English is a must - Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred) - 2+ years of litigation experience (required) - Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred) - Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas (preferred) - Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with minimal supervision - Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings - Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, etc. - Highly organized and able to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment - Extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and typing speed of at least 35 wpm Benefits: - Competitive salary based on experience - Medical and dental insurance - 401(k) plan - Paid time off and holidays Equal Opportunity Statement: Morgan & Morgan provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local laws.
