Customer service skills are also preferred for this role. Overall Job Description: The Gori Law Firm is seeking a Mass Tort Legal Assistant I to join our team. This full-time position requires 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with potential for alternative and flexible schedules based on department needs and supervisor approval. The position reports to the Supervising Attorney and is responsible for performing clerical duties such as answering client phone calls, organizing legal documents, electronically saving information, and managing department mail. Position Requirements: To be considered for this role, candidates must have either clerical or legal experience, and possess a strong skill set in MS Office Word, Excel, and Adobe. The ability to type quickly and accurately, as well as communicate effectively with coworkers is also required. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, well-organized, and have a strong attention to detail. Previous customer service experience is preferred, and punctual and predictable attendance is a must. This position requires performing job duties in the office at a desk on a regular basis. Position Duties: The Mass Tort Legal Assistant I will be responsible for gathering data from various sources and inputting it into databases, as well as saving documents and extracting information from them. The individual in this role will also need to be highly organized and detail-oriented in order to meet deadlines and ensure accuracy in spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Effective communication with coworkers and clients is essential, and the individual may also be required to answer client questions regarding court updates. Other special projects may also be assigned as needed. Education, Certificates, and Licenses: A high school diploma or GED is required for this position, and candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test. While not required, a Paralegal Certificate or Associate's Degree in Legal Studies is preferred.
