Law Firm Seeking IP Assistant with 5+ Years of Patent and Trademark Experience

Overview:
- Seeking an IP Assistant to work within the IP Quality Assurance department
- Will support two teams of patent and trademark prosecution timekeepers
- Responsible for conducting quality control and procedural functions to adhere to Firm and IP best practices
- Requires in-depth knowledge and experience regarding IP prosecution requirements

Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed quality review of all . and foreign patent and trademark filings
- Review and double-check work product produced by Docketing and Annuities departments
- Liaise with Docketing department to ensure daily docket clearance
- Review vendor drawings and work product for accuracy
- Provide support for clerical team regarding email saving and naming convention processes
- Serve as a knowledge and tactical resource, contributing to formulating best practices
- Coordinate intake, conduct matter review, and manage incoming file transfers
- Manage, track, and complete large or long-term projects
- Provide backup/overflow support for IP Assistants, Docketing, and Foreign Filing
- Participate in IP onboarding/exit processes
- Train new and existing staff
- Educate staff and legal teams on rules and changes/updates
- Administer the IPDAS database
- Review errors/issues based on incoming USPTO communications
- Maintain and update filing checklists for quality control purposes
- Participate in drafting and distribution of client IP Alerts

- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence
- Experience researching patent law rules and procedures
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
- Team oriented
- Experience with CPI, IPDAS, and quality control functions are a plus
