In this role, you will be responsible for managing the docket system and tracking deadlines for the firm's intellectual property cases. This is a critical role that supports the firm's international docketing processes and ensures compliance with all deadlines to mitigate malpractice risks. As an IP Docket Administrator, you will have the opportunity to work with a team of experienced attorneys and support staff in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Your main responsibilities will include handling and monitoring docket management for filing deadlines, researching current rules and practices, and supervising and providing professional development to other team members within the docketing department. Additionally, you will work closely with the firm's IT department to ensure that the docketing database system is up-to-date and maintained properly. Key Responsibilities: - Manage and monitor docketing for filing deadlines and response dates for attorneys - Research current rules and practices and oversee docketing procedures - Supervise and provide professional development to other team members - Generate daily and weekly reports for attorneys and clients - Work with IT to ensure updates and maintenance to the docketing database system - Serve as the main point of contact with the docketing database system vendor - Enter and manage data in the docketing database system - Review and enter due dates for new matters into the docketing system - Prepare patent application filing requests and transmittals, file PCT patent applications electronically, and handle all associated prosecution filings and client correspondence - File foreign applications via foreign patent counsel and handle all associated formality requirements and non-substantive actions during foreign prosecution - Review and approve patent invoices from foreign counsel - Process and docket email requests from attorneys, secretaries, and others - Assist with conducting Internet research and patent screening searches To be successful in this role, you should have strong decision-making skills, excellent communication abilities, and a natural aptitude for leadership. You must also be willing to continuously learn and adapt to changing processes and procedures. Teamwork and the ability to align with the firm's values, including diversity and inclusion efforts, are also crucial for this position.
