Position: Conflicts Researcher

Experience: 4 years of comparable law firm or research experience, or a Paralegal Certificate and 2 years of comparable law firm or research experience required.
Salary Range: to per hour, with a discretionary bonus based on performance.

The Conflicts Researcher plays a vital role in supporting the risk management function of the law firm by conducting due diligence research and utilizing the conflicts database to screen and report findings related to potential and existing clients. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct due diligence research using various electronic resources to screen potential and existing clients
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining due diligence research and highlighting any potential risk issues
- Search and prepare conflict reports using conflicts software, evaluating and making decisions on relevancy
- Perform corporate tree research and analysis using internet and database resources
- Assist with processing rejected matters and adding former client/adverse hits for new hires
- Respond to department emails and train on handling late shift assignments
- Adhere to all firm and department policies and procedures related to conflict searches and new business intake

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or Paralegal Certificate with 2 years of comparable law firm or research experience; or 4 years of comparable law firm or research experience
- Prior experience as a Conflicts Researcher at a comparably sized firm or other legal experience preferred
- High level of proficiency with computers and database software
- Ability to follow instructions and procedures, think independently, and seek advice when necessary
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Highly analytical with attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Willingness to work flexible hours when necessary

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and carry at least 10 pounds
