Law Firm is looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join our team. As a Personal Injury Paralegal, you will provide support for our cases from presuit through trial. You will have daily interaction with existing and potential clients, via telephone and in person. You will also be responsible for ordering medical records from providers and communicating with clients and providers during the course of treatment. In addition, you will be required to obtain documents necessary to support injury and/or liability positions, and negotiate case settlements with insurance carriers and negotiate a deduction of outstanding medical balances with providers.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have an Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience. Additionally, they should have 2+ years of presuit or litigation experience, and completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program is preferred. Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury related practice areas is also preferred. The candidate should possess the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision. They should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings. They should be highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment, and have extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and should be able to type no less than 35 wpm.

• Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda
• E-file all court documents in state and federal court
• Communications with clients, court, counsel, and others.
• Conduct legal research and factual investigation
• Prepare discovery documents, interrogatories, and responses
• Draft and server summons
• Coordinate and summarize depositions
• Prepare trial binders and exhibits
• Drafting pleadings, motions and appellate documents and filing them with the court
• Performing administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics)
• Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
• Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
• Aid attorney with interrogatories and other discovery requests
• Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
• Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
• Witness preparation
• Assisting with case settlements
• Other tasks as requested by the attorney
