Overview:

Shumaker is a leading national law firm with offices in multiple states, including South Carolina, North Carolina, Ohio, Minnesota, and Florida. Our Benefits Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to work in-person at any of these locations, providing flexibility and a diverse range of experiences. As an ERISA/Benefits Attorney, you will handle complex case assignments, manage client relationships, and develop your skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

- Engage in sophisticated and challenging ERISA work for clients nationwide
- Manage complex case assignments and prioritize deadlines
- Utilize strong research skills and online resources to support cases
- Communicate effectively with clients and maintain confidentiality
- Work independently and maintain a high level of professionalism

Qualifications:

- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active bar license for the state in which you will work
- 5+ years of professional ERISA law practice experience
- Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

- Sitting position static for up to one-half hour at a time
- Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day
- Bending and stooping occasionally, up to one-half hour per day
