This role will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's paraprofessional program, including recruitment, training, and performance management. The Director will work closely with the three law departments - Business Law, Intellectual Property, and Litigation - to ensure top-notch support for internal and external clients. Responsibilities - Develop and maintain a comprehensive paraprofessional program for all three law departments, with a focus on providing exceptional client service. - Analyze existing programs and make recommendations for improvements. Implement strategic and innovative approaches to enhance the overall operation of the paraprofessional team. - Establish hiring criteria and development frameworks to ensure consistency across the law departments. Collaborate with Human Resources as needed. - Support the professional development of paraprofessionals through onboarding, training, and knowledge management resources. - Proactively address attorney and client needs by creating workflow coverage plans and monitoring utilization and realization of paraprofessionals. - Collaborate with legal departments and accounting & finance on paraprofessional billing rates. - Prepare and oversee budget for the paraprofessional program, including salaries, bonuses, and administrative expenses. - Build relationships with paraprofessional team, firm leaders, and other stakeholders to achieve goals and responsibilities. Qualifications - required. - Minimum of 10 years of legal and/or paraprofessional experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial role. - Experience working with paraprofessionals in multiple practice areas preferred.
