Law Firm Seeking Business Intake & Conflicts Specialist (Laterals) with Competitive Salary and Benefits

Introduction:

Cooley, a leading law firm, is currently seeking a Business Intake & Conflicts Specialist (Laterals) to join their team. This role is responsible for ensuring the firm's compliance with ethical obligations and risk management policies, as well as facilitating the onboarding of new business. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role and possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

- Review incoming conflict check submissions for new attorney, paralegal, and staff hires
- Maintain lateral candidate folders and update spreadsheets
- Communicate with recruiting/HR, attorneys, and other department members regarding lateral intake
- Monitor the BIC inbox and respond to inquiries regarding new business requests
- Process and quality control intake review queues
- Provide training to new hires and lead clean-up projects
- Conduct research on conflicts of interest and corporate affiliations
- Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience:

- 3+ years of experience in a similar role or in a law firm environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other firm applications
- Strong computer skills and ability to learn new systems quickly
- Availability for overtime as needed
- Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate preferred

- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Punctual and reliable
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment
