Job Description

- Two-year position supporting paralegals and attorneys in the Restructuring group
- Opportunity for individuals interested in law school to gain prior legal experience
- Extensive hours and travel required
- Not an administrative position

Essential Job Functions

- Under the supervision and direction of a Paralegal, assist in managing and organizing materials and information related to Restructuring transactions in large chapter 11 bankruptcies and reorganizations
- Analyze large amounts of due diligence materials regarding all aspects of a company's business operations
- Perform work in an efficient and cost-effective manner, meeting expectations of billable hours
- Assist with the preparation and filing of First Day Pleadings, Electronic Court Filings, and draft administrative first day pleadings
- Prepare information and exhibits for motions, applications, notices, memoranda, proofs of claim, and orders to the court
- Assist with the preparation of fee statements and applications and maintain professional fee spreadsheets
- Collaborate with other practice groups and offices on matters related to restructuring and reorganizations

Qualifications & Requirements

- Bachelor's degree required
- 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Overtime and travel required
- Fundamental proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills with strong attention to detail
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
