This includes creating and editing legal documents, maintaining client relationships, managing billing processes, and providing administrative support. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of legal secretarial experience, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication abilities. Key Responsibilities: - Create, edit, and proofread complex legal documents and correspondence for assigned attorneys - Maintain a high level of client service and support, building and maintaining client relationships - Utilize firm-provided software to accurately store emails and maintain and retrieve files - Schedule appointments and maintain contacts using Outlook - Assist with timekeeping entry and basic legal research - Open new matters, prepare engagement letters, and process conflict reports using Ework software - Manage the billing process, including editing prebills and generating final invoices - Provide backup support to other attorneys and timekeepers as needed - Act as a proactive mentor for junior staff and new employees, assisting with training on firm processes and procedures - Provide administrative support such as answering phones, arranging conference calls and meetings, and making travel arrangements - Ensure compliance with the firm's information handling policy and general safety practices Qualifications: - High school diploma required, associate degree preferred - Minimum of 3 years of legal secretarial experience or administrative secretary experience - Experience working in a large law firm preferred - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to multi-task, prioritize work, and meet deadlines - Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective internal and external client relationships - Proficiency with Windows-based software, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook - Typing speed of 70 wpm with high level of accuracy - Flexibility regarding work schedule and availability for overtime About Morrison Foerster LLP: Morrison Foerster LLP is an Am Law 50 law firm with 18 offices worldwide.
