Overview:

- Law firm seeking an experienced Construction Legal Assistant for their Fort Lauderdale office
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience, with at least 2 years focusing on Construction matters

Responsibilities:

- Create, format, edit, and proofread legal documents using Microsoft Office Suite
- Prepare shells for attorneys for motions, discovery, and trial documents
- File legal documents with state and federal courts (e-filing knowledge required)
- Prepare and edit AIA contracts and custom contracts
- Assist with trial preparation and support paralegals and attorneys
- Perform administrative tasks such as conflict checks, opening/closing matters, preparing expense reports, and maintaining calendars and emails
- Organize and maintain client files, prepare pleading indexes, and manage contact lists

Qualifications:

- Minimum of 5 years experience, with at least 2 years focusing on Construction matters
- Familiarity with federal and state court procedures and e-filing requirements
- Strong proofreading, document formatting, and redlining skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Punctual, meticulous, proactive, reliable, and self-motivated
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work independently and in a team environment
