About the Role

As a Litigation Paralegal at Morgan & Morgan, you will play a vital role in our winning fight for consumer rights. You will work closely with our talented attorneys, providing support before, during, and after trials. From preparing legal documents to conducting research and coordinating with third parties, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities that will contribute to our success in protecting the people against insurance companies, large corporations, and defective goods.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare legal documents including pleadings, motions, affidavits, and complaints
- E-file court documents in state and federal court
- Communicate with clients, court, counsel, and other parties
- Conduct legal research and factual investigation
- Prepare discovery documents and responses
- Draft and serve summons
- Coordinate and summarize depositions
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits
- Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court
- Perform administrative duties such as calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, and manage logistics
- Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
- Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices
- Assist attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
- Gather relevant information from various sources
- Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
- Prepare witnesses for trial
- Assist with case settlements
- Fulfill other tasks as requested by the attorney

Qualifications

- Associate degree, certificate, or equivalent work experience (preferred)
- 2+ years of litigation experience (required)
- Completion of a nationally accredited paralegal program (preferred)
- Experience in Personal Injury, WC, Premises, or other injury-related practice areas (preferred)
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage workload with a positive attitude and minimal supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in calendaring depositions, mediations, and hearings
- Knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices, etc.
- Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Extensive computer and database expertise, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a typing speed of at least 35 wpm
