Management must provide training to new attorneys as it is imperative for new ones. So in this firm you may have to learn all things by yourself. If you can get any big case it will provide you good exposure
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Amster Rothstein & Ebenstein LLP is a small firm but there are some interesting clients and ample cases to learn new things. The caliber of some assignments was top notch as there are few big clients associated with the firm.
What did you not like about this institution?
Job security is low and many attorneys have left the firm within the past few years. So the employee turnover ratio is very high because there is virtually no focus on trainings and attorney development.

Give associates training using smaller cases.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Salary is okay if you negotiate well. I've heard stories of dramatic differences in associates salaries, even those starting the same year.
What did you not like about this institution?
Partners there are an awful bunch. Truly. None of them care about you - I promise. One in particular who does a lot of speaking engagements is really smart, a genuinely smart man, but wow is he awful. I mean, who cares if you're smart if you create a toxic culture in which you brutalize all who work with you? He's probably the worst attorney I've ever had the privilege of working with. A few of the other partners aren't much better. Also, if you're an associate, you'll receive virtually no training whatsoever, echoing what one other reviewing wrote. For instance, you may not get to depose anyone until you've been at the firm about 7 or 8 years. Insane! Most firms you're doing that by your 2nd or 3rd year latest. Run far away if you value your long-term career.

Hours are great, unless your on a big case, in which case they suck same as biglaw.
