Legal Counsel - Protect and Support a Rapidly Growing Educational Platform - $160,000-$200,000/year

**Members Only** is seeking a Legal Counsel to join our groundbreaking educational platform, promoting student equity and growth through dynamic digital learning and high-quality curriculum management. As the first dedicated legal counsel, you will use your expertise in legal contracts and organizational partnerships to support and protect our growing business. This full-time, hybrid position can be based in San Francisco, New York, or remote within the US.

Responsibilities:

- Draft and review agreements, ensuring clarity and alignment with company goals
- Collaborate in negotiations to protect and enforce company interests
- Ensure compliance with relevant commercial, transactional, and privacy laws and regulations
- Identify potential legal risks and propose solutions to mitigate them
- Streamline processes and develop standard templates for recurring legal needs

Qualifications:

- Experience with corporate reporting and governance, including management of boards and committees
- Strong communication skills, able to present complex ideas to employees at all levels and executive team
- Negotiation skills and business acumen to inform legal recommendations
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
- Previous experience providing legal support for sales organizations at scale
- Ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgment in a fast-paced environment

Salary Information:

- Salary range is $160,000-$200,000 per year, dependent on geography, experience, seniority, and ability demonstrated during the interview process
