What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
Start over. Learn trademark law and copyright law. Stop micromanaging a team of attorneys who all have far more substantive knowledge than you. Be fair to everyone. Stop favoring one person over everyone else.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
Nothing good I can say about this place except that some excellent people used to work here and they all left.
What did you not like about this institution?
Bad culture. Owner of firm and senior associate have very little actual trademark and copyright law knowledge. They push all substantive work onto others and micromanage all administrative details of all work. Senior associate takes credit for everything but is essentially a glorified paralegal. The culture at this very small firm is very bad. I would not take a job here where they pay is low, benefits are terrible and everyone talks bad about everyone behind everyone's backs. Also, different rules in place for different people. Be very careful here.

What would you, or others, like to see changed at employer?
I believe the firm management is doing a great job. My advice would simply be to keep up the good work.
What were the things that you liked most about this employer?
I have been an attorney at The Sladkus Law Group for 8 years, starting right after graduation from law school. While I understand that our culture is not the right fit for everyone, it has been a great working environment for me. I work with a small group of intelligent, well educated attorneys that care about their clients and colleagues. Given our small size, all attorneys and support staff have an important role and work hands on with clients.
What did you not like about this institution?
The small size of our firm means that we are less structured than some larger firms. This does not work for everyone, as demonstrated by the prior reviewer, who worked at our firm for a very short time. I find that the flexibility and fluid structure are an advantage, but I can see how this would not work for some individuals that are more accustomed to a bigger firm environment.
People, departments, offices, products, services and whatever comes to mind that should be avoided at this institution
There are no partners to avoid. The managing partner is easy to work with and very knowledgeable in the field of trademark law.
How could this employer run its business to employees or the public better?
My favorite things about the firm are the flexibility given to each employee and being treated as an individual.

The first stores, at around 60,000 square feet each, were cavernous warehouses that dwarfed the competition and stocked 25,000 SKUs, much more than the average hardware store at th...
