Private Funds Staff Attorney - Remote/Hybrid Role
Overview
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is seeking a highly qualified Staff Attorney to join our Private Funds group in the New York office. This is a remote/hybrid role, with the option to work remotely part of the week and in the office part of the week. The Staff Attorney will work closely with Associates, Counsel, and Partners on a variety of private fund matters, including fund formation, investor onboarding, and ongoing fund maintenance.
Responsibilities
• Assist with drafting and reviewing fund formation documents for various private fund clients
• Review and track investor subscription documents
• Manage fund closings and assist with investor onboarding
• Prepare basic fund-related agreements, including transfer agreements
• Work with clients and investors to process and close secondary transfers
• Compile key documents such as master side letters and most favored nation clause compendiums
• Assist with AML and KYC compliance
• Assist with ongoing fund maintenance and compliance tasks
• Perform other tasks as needed
Requirements
• . from an ABA accredited law school
• Admission to the bar of the local office jurisdiction
• Strong technical and computer skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and demands on time
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of Excel, iManage, and Word preferred
Salary Information
• Estimated base salary range of $130,000 to $150,000 for NY location
• Actual salary offered will depend on individual qualifications and experience
• Exempt role, not eligible for overtime pay
