Job Title: Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Litigation Paralegal will be responsible for assisting attorneys in the litigation practice areas of family law, civil litigation, and collection/garnishment work at a law firm. Key duties include:
- Assisting attorneys in litigating family and/or civil law matters from start to finish.
- Collaborating with attorneys to review and organize discovery and assisting clients in obtaining their discovery documents.
- Completing General District Court (GDC) forms such as Warrant in Debts, Unlawful Detainers, Garnishments, and Debtor Interrogatories.
- Filing documents in Virginia state courts and going to the courthouse to obtain particular documents or review case files.
- Providing high-quality legal assistance regardless of client income.
- Communicating regularly with supervisors while working independently without significant oversight.
- Engaging in writing on legal subjects outside of litigation documents, such as blog posts.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates should possess the following qualifications and experience:
- A valid Paralegal Certificate is required.
- At least 3 years of experience working with attorneys on cases in Virginia state courts.
- Experience working with GDC forms is necessary.
- Preferred experience includes working with matters pending before . Superior Court and the ability to speak with clients in Spanish.
Salary Information:
The position offers a pay rate starting from per hour, with expected working hours ranging from 20 to 40 hours per week.

The position is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, with a hybrid work setting that includes remote work opportunities in Fairfax, VA. The work schedule is typically an 8-hour shift from Monday to Friday.
