Risk Management Conflict Clerk
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct conflict of interest search requests and handle matter intake through conclusion.
- Make decisions regarding actions to be taken, including assessing complex or unusual requests, interpreting conflicts data, and determining techniques to resolve conflicts.
- Analyze conflicts reports, provide informed recommendations, and highlight potential conflicts for attorney review.
- Communicate and disseminate conflict of interest information orally or in writing, following up with lawyers and others as needed to ensure due diligence and that files are complete and up-to-date.
- Conduct research using third-party business resources for all new clients and other assigned work as needed.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable rules of professional conduct, client relationship considerations, and related developments.
- Participate in or manage special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
- Contribute to department work product by communicating and collaborating to enhance individual and team productivity.
- Work overtime as needed and approved, including weekend and holiday email and conflict check coverage shared with other staff on a rotating, calendared basis.
Education and Experience Information:
- Minimum of two years’ experience related to the duties or skills described (., general research, paralegal, or clerking experience) or one year of direct conflicts experience in a law firm.
- Law firm experience is highly desired.
- Professional demeanor required.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact with attorneys, management, and staff.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high-level work product, working both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
- Must exercise discretion and good judgment.
- Proficiency with Outlook preferred.
- Familiarity with legal documents is a plus.
- College and work-related experience preferred.
Salary Information:
- The yearly salary range is between $40,000-$55,000.
- The position is open to all experience levels.
- The actual salary offered may be above or below the identified range and will be based on a wide range of factors, including relevant skills, training, experience, and the location where the position is filled.
Additional Information:
- The position is full-time with flexible options to work remotely, in a hybrid setting, or onsite.
- Medium to large law firm experience is preferred, and paralegal or law clerk experience is a plus.
- The candidate must observe confidentiality in all client and firm matters.
