Job Title: Pre-Litigation Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
Administrative
- Organize the attorney's schedules and provide timely reminders to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Maintain and organize case files, both electronically and physically, to ensure easy access and retrieval of documents.
- Track the progress of claims, monitor deadlines, and ensure compliance with all applicable procedures.
Case Management
- Organize settlement packets and prepare all necessary documentation required for disbursement.
- Set up claims with auto insurance and health insurance companies to initiate the claims process.
- Review medical records, bills, and other relevant documentation to support the claim.
- Monitor the progress of client medical treatment to ensure all necessary information is obtained.
- Prepare case summaries and research memos for attorney review to support case strategies.
Legal Document Preparation
- Draft and submit demand letters, medical payment claims, settlement agreements, and other legal documents to advance the claim process.
- Prepare and review correspondence to clients, insurance companies, and medical providers to ensure clear communication.
- Ensure all documents are properly formatted, contain accurate citations, and uphold legal accuracy.
Client Communication & Support
- Communicate with clients, medical providers, and insurance companies to collect and disseminate necessary information.
- Coordinate and schedule medical evaluations, expert consultations, and settlement disbursements to facilitate the claims process.
Legal Research & Analysis
- Conduct legal research on case law, insurance regulations, and claims procedures to support the preparation and resolution of claims.
Education and Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal assistant is required.
- Experience in Personal Injury, Worker’s Compensation, Premises, or other injury-related practice areas is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal certificate is preferred.
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of personal injury law, claims processes, and insurance negotiations.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with a legal team.
- Proficiency in legal research tools, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Salary Information:
- The salary for this position is between $50,000 and $60,000 as provided by the employer.
