Job Title: Research Services Manager
Job Responsibilities:
The Research Services Manager plays a crucial role in managing the research service delivery for over 1,600 lawyers and staff members at the law firm. The primary responsibilities include:
- Managing the staffing and scheduling needs of the Research Services Team to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Developing and administering performance expectations and standard workflow processes for the team.
- Monitoring and administering research request assignments received through the firm's centralized research request tracking system, Quest.
- Supervising complex research assignments and providing resource and research strategy recommendations.
- Conducting quality control oversight of work products to ensure consistency and timeliness in service delivery.
- Identifying opportunities for professional growth, facilitating skills development, and providing mentorship for team members.
- Generating and presenting regular reports on research activities, including metrics on service delivery and client satisfaction.
- Collaborating with the Research Services management team to identify and implement best practices in legal research.
- Working collaboratively with other teams in the Knowledge Management & Innovation Department to support the department’s mission and goals.
- Leading and communicating effectively to deliver high-quality research solutions with exemplary customer service.
- Ensuring compliance with firm policies, legal requirements, and industry best practices in all research activities.
- Remaining current on technological enhancements that contribute to sophisticated research services and participating in testing, evaluating, and selecting new research tools.
- Offering consistent training and updates to the team on new product developments and enhancements.
- Participating in professional associations and encouraging team participation in professional programs and events.
- Promoting and upholding the highest professional and customer service standards.
- Maintaining confidentiality of information.
- Being willing to travel as required and occasionally work after hours and on weekends to perform essential duties.

Education and Experience:
The position requires:
- A Master’s degree in Library Science, Information Science, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience demonstrating the ability to perform the job duties.
- A minimum of seven years of experience in legal research.
- At least three years of experience in a leadership or management role.
Salary Information:
Compensation for the Research Services Manager position is dependent on various factors such as position, location, education, training, and experience. The hiring salary range is between $150, and $170,.
