Job Responsibilities:
The role of a Legal Secretary/Assistant involves performing a variety of secretarial and administrative duties for attorneys and/or paralegals. The position requires a considerable knowledge of legal procedures and entails the following responsibilities:
- Transcribing legal documents, correspondence, and reports from rough drafts.
- Organizing, prioritizing, and completing numerous tasks under time constraints.
- Managing oneself effectively with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Employing excellent computer skills to support various legal and administrative tasks.
- Maintaining a professional demeanor with common sense problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates for the Legal Secretary/Assistant position should have:
- A minimum of three to five years of on-the-job experience within a law firm setting.
- A strong understanding of legal procedures and the ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.
Salary Information:
