Job Title: Tax Manager, Alternative Investments

Job Responsibilities:
The Tax Manager, Alternative Investments is responsible for providing tax compliance and consulting services to clients in the Venture Capital, Private Equity, Hedge Fund, and Real Estate sectors. Key responsibilities include ensuring that clients comply with all applicable tax authorities while minimizing their tax and reporting burdens. The role involves applying an understanding of each client’s unique circumstances to prepare required tax filings and ensure full compliance. The Tax Manager will collaborate with Principals, Tax Seniors, and Associates to complete projects, deliver high-quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services, and lead complex engagements with a team of tax professionals. Additional duties include managing client relationships, engagement billing, collections, and budgeting, as well as documenting client work and conclusions.

In terms of tax consulting, the Tax Manager will assist in identifying, developing, recommending, and implementing efficient and effective tax strategies. The role also includes supervisory responsibilities, managing and mentoring teams of Tax Seniors and Associates.

Education and Experience Information:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, with a focus in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred.
- Master’s Degree in Accounting or Taxation preferred.

Experience:
- A minimum of five years of relevant tax experience and/or experience in public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services is required.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry supporting Alternative Investment funds, including Venture Capital, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Hedge Funds, is preferred.
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships is preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience is required.

License/Certifications:
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA) is required.
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to the role is beneficial.

Software:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
- Experience with tax research databases and proficiency in tax compliance process software is preferred.
