Associate General Counsel - Deposits - Available in Multiple Locations
Truist, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly experienced Associate General Counsel to join their Consumer & Small Business Deposit, Digital & Payment Legal Team. This position is available in four locations: Charlotte, North Carolina; Atlanta, Georgia; Richmond, Virginia; and Washington, District of Columbia.
The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for handling complex legal matters and providing legal advice and recommendations to line of business executives. This position requires a Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school and at least ten years of post-bar experience in a law firm, government, and/or corporate setting. The ideal candidate will possess superior written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage a heavy workload and meet critical deadlines, and the ability to work autonomously without close supervision.
Responsibilities of the Associate General Counsel include conducting legal research, drafting high priority documents, and handling significant product and regulatory matters. The position also involves keeping abreast of legislation, regulations, and case law developments, as well as identifying the need for and directing outside counsel when necessary. The Associate General Counsel will also serve as an individual contributor and provide work direction and supervision to other legal staff.
Qualifications for this position include a Juris Doctorate degree and a license to practice law in good standing. The ideal candidate will also have experience practicing law in a relevant field, the initiative to identify and deliver creative solutions, and a commitment to professional growth. Knowledge of deposit products, debit card product development, and digital execution is preferred, as well as familiarity with consumer deposit and payment related state and regulatory laws.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $190,000 to $250,000. Depending on the position and division, this job may also be eligible for Truist’s defined benefit pension plan, restricted stock units, and/or a deferred compensation plan.
