Job Title: Project Manager - Innovation

Job Responsibilities:
The Project Manager - Innovation at the law firm is tasked with serving as the technical project manager for the BuchannanInnovate Portfolio. This encompasses multiple implementation projects focused on technology and process innovation initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

- Defining program goals and objectives in line with the organization's strategic vision in collaboration with the IT leadership team.
- Establishing and communicating program governance and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Managing project teams to ensure successful execution of implementation projects.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and resolving issues to maintain program trajectory.
- Developing and maintaining project documentation such as project plans and status reports.
- Acting as a technical liaison between internal project teams, vendors, and stakeholders to facilitate communication and collaboration.
- Collaborating with stakeholders across legal, administrative, and IT departments, as well as vendors and executive leadership, to ensure program alignment and support.
- Communicating program status, risks, and issues to stakeholders through regular meetings and reporting.
- Allocating and managing program resources, including personnel, equipment, and budgets, with the IT leadership team. This includes managing resource allocation with the Resource Management tracking platform for accurate reporting and capacity planning.
- Ensuring project teams have the necessary tools and resources for effective task execution.
- Establishing and maintaining quality standards for IT implementations to meet performance, security, and compliance requirements.
- Applying best practices and quality control processes throughout the program.
- Collaborating with the Organizational Change Management (OCM) team to facilitate the adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Identifying potential impacts of changes and developing mitigation strategies.
- Participating as a working member of the project team as needed, taking responsibility for assigned project task execution.
- Developing and presenting the Business Case (project charter) for new projects with the IT management team and project team members.
- Maintaining project plans and documentation throughout active projects.
- Running weekly status update meetings for all active projects to ensure agenda adherence and quality status updates.
- Recommending and coordinating corrective actions to address threats to project scope, cost, resources, and/or schedule.
- Traveling to other offices as needed, up to 25 days per year.
- Performing all other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A bachelor's degree or project management certifications such as PMP or CAPM is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in technical roles, preferably in a legal environment, is required.
- Strong interviewing skills to gather business requirements and objectives from project sponsors and customers.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in planning, organization, implementation, and follow-up.
- Experience with Resource Management reporting and planning solutions is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to handle stressful situations and provide high-level support in a calm and professional manner.
- Ability to adapt to changes in processes and/or systems.
- Prior experience in project management methodologies.
- Ability to analyze problems/projects and propose innovative solutions.
- Initiative-taking with discretion and independent judgment.
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines; effective project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate team efforts.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Visio.
