Job Title: Corporate Tax Manager - Methods, Credits & Incentives R&D
Job Responsibilities:
As a Corporate Tax Manager in the Methods, Credits & Incentives (MCI) Research & Development Tax Credit practice, your primary responsibilities include navigating the complexities of R&D tax credits and providing insightful, practical tax advice for clients. You are expected to collaborate with MCI leadership, supervise R&D projects, research tax issues, conduct fieldwork, and participate in sales and marketing efforts. Your key duties include:
- Visiting client locations, touring facilities, investigating relevant facts, analyzing accounting information, preparing cost lead schedules and cost summary schedules, completing appropriate tax computations, and preparing written reports summarizing findings.
- Managing various project tasks simultaneously and being responsible for the overall project and deliverables.
- Supporting business development activities, such as identification, proposal development, and other pursuit activities at clients.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
- A Master's or . is preferred in fields such as Economics, Statistics, Public Policy, Mathematics, Business, Finance, Financial Engineering, Management Science and Engineering, Financial Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Research.
- Six to ten years of experience in R&D tax credits is required, though experience in Fixed Asset or Tax Accounting Method is also considered.
- A minimum of four years of experience in Accounting or Tax in public accounting or consulting is necessary.
- A CPA or a legal background (JD, LLM) is required.
- Prior project management experience is essential.
- A strong understanding of federal and some state R&D rules and relevant court cases is needed.
- An intermediate understanding of tax return mechanics is necessary.
- Familiarity and experience with amending tax returns are required.
- The ability to manage time, manage multiple engagements, support leadership initiatives, and meet deadlines is crucial.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- The ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites is necessary. Candidates must be willing and able to travel.
Salary Information:
- The base salary range for this position in the District of Columbia office is between $121,000 and $181,400.
- The base salary range for this position in the company's New York, NY, and Iselin, NJ offices is between $121,000 and $181,400.
