Gibson Dunn, a leading global law firm, is seeking a Procurement Attorney to join their team. This role, based in any . office, will play a vital role in supporting the firm's procurement function by analyzing, drafting, and negotiating agreements with key vendors and third parties. The successful candidate will also provide legal counsel to the procurement team and assist in identifying legal and compliance issues and business risks.
As a Procurement Attorney, you will be responsible for providing counsel to the firm and working closely with the procurement function on all aspects of contract drafting, negotiation, and compliance. This includes analyzing and negotiating a variety of complex commercial agreements, collaborating with other departments and stakeholders, and staying up to date on relevant legal developments and trends.
To excel in this role, you must have strong negotiating and drafting skills, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment. A Juris Doctor (JD) degree and a minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in procurement or contract law are required. The ideal candidate will also have experience providing legal counsel in a corporate setting and familiarity with technology solutions.
Gibson Dunn offers a competitive salary range of $90,000-$150,000 per year, depending on qualifications and other operational considerations. Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze, draft, and negotiate a wide array of agreements with key vendors and third parties
• Provide ad-hoc legal counsel to the procurement team
• Identify and escalate legal and compliance issues and business risks
• Collaborate and liaise with other departments and internal stakeholders
• Draft and update firm templates for third-party contracts
• Stay up to date on legal developments and trends
• Review and manage procurement processes
Qualifications:
• Juris Doctor (JD) degree required
• Minimum of three years of experience as an attorney in procurement or contract law
• Strong negotiating and drafting skills
• Excellent communication abilities
• Ability to organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment
• Methodological approach with strong attention to detail
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
