Job Title: Sr. Claims Examiner - General Liability
Job Responsibilities:
The Sr. Claims Examiner - General Liability position involves managing moderate to high complexity and exposure claims that may require resolution through mediation or litigation. Key responsibilities include handling claims from initial coverage inquiry through legal liability assessment and quantum analysis, ensuring timely and accurate resolution. The role involves mitigating indemnity and expense exposure while maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders. The position requires increased responsibility for decision-making within authority limits, minimal oversight, and providing training and technical support to other team members.
Specific duties include:
- Handling moderate to high exposure general liability bodily injury (BI) and property damage (PD) claims.
- Analyzing complex coverage issues and effectively communicating coverage positions.
- Conducting, coordinating, and directing investigations into loss facts and the extent of damages.
- Directing and monitoring assignments to outside counsel and experts.
- Evaluating coverage, liability, and damages to determine the insured's exposure.
- Setting timely and meaningful reserves within authority or recommending reserve changes to the manager.
- Negotiating and settling claims either directly or indirectly.
- Preparing reports by collecting and summarizing necessary information.
- Adhering to Fair Claims Practices regulations.
- Participating in special projects and assisting other team members as needed.
- Traveling to mediations, trials, and conferences as required.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in handling moderate to high exposure general liability BI and PD claims is required.
- A legal background as a practicing attorney with litigation or coverage experience is required.
- Experience handling excess/umbrella claims is considered a plus.

Salary Information:
The base salary for this position ranges from $73,600 to $122,600, with a 15% bonus potential. The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other relevant factors.

- The company offers hybrid working schedules, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote.
