We are looking for experienced attorneys to join our team as Senior Conflicts Attorneys at our prestigious law firm. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits. Job Description:
As a Senior Conflicts Attorney, you will play a crucial role in assisting our attorneys with clearing conflicts related to new business intake. You will also be responsible for protecting our firm and clients from any potential risks or adversity. This is a unique opportunity to join a new team and make an immediate impact on our firm. The position may require occasional in-person meetings and attendance at team building events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize your conflicts knowledge to establish a comprehensive clearance process
- Process new client and matter intake on behalf of firm attorneys
- Conduct conflicts checks and identify potential conflicts of interest
- Communicate with affected attorneys to resolve conflicts
- Obtain accurate due diligence for processing new clients and matters
- Draft waiver letters when needed to clear conflicts
- Advise attorneys on professional conduct rules and regulations
- Draft and communicate firm policies related to conflicts of interest
- Answer questions and provide guidance on conflicts of interest and other firm policies
- Establish and maintain ethical walls and legal screens when required
- Stay up-to-date on changes in ethics rules, opinions, and case law related to conflicts of interest
- Monitor client mergers and acquisitions and address any conflicts of interest
- Assist with maintaining accurate shared documents
- Perform other special projects and duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Ability to manage and prioritize work in a fast-paced and complex environment
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision
- Discretion in escalating and communicating issues
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in research, computer, and database usage
- Knowledge of conflicts of interest principles under the Rules of Professional Conduct
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of legal experience, with at least 5 years handling conflicts of interest in a large law firm setting
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in a . jurisdiction where the firm has an office
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Moderate or advanced keyboard usage
Salary Information:
- District of Columbia: $149,800k - $224,600k/yr
- New York State: $130,200k - $234,500k/yr
- New York City: $156,300k - $234,500k/yr
- Colorado: $136,700k - $205,100k/yr
- California: $149,800k - $244,200k/yr
