Job Title: Compliance Audit Assistant
Job Responsibilities:
The Compliance Audit Assistant plays a crucial role within the Compliance Department at a law firm. The primary responsibility is to support the Compliance Department managers by performing a variety of tasks to ensure the firm’s operations are in compliance with state and federal consumer financial protection laws, case law, and other applicable rules and regulations. The Compliance Audit Assistant is tasked with:
- Assisting in the development of the firm’s processes and policies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and client work standards.
- Identifying the need for new compliance processes and procedures or updates to current ones to minimize risk to the firm and its clients.
- Assisting with client audits, internal compliance audits, and vendor audits.
- Conducting internal letter template audits and live letter template reviews.
- Assisting with firm remediations by identifying noncompliance trends, logging and issuing remediations to firm departments, and tracking remediations to completion in a timely manner.
- Collaborating with outside vendors and subcontractors to assist with call reviews.
- Communicating and responding to client inquiries or requests.
- Assisting with outside vendor system access, ensuring vendor employees complete required training before obtaining access to the firm’s system of record.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Information:
- An associate degree is preferred.
- At least 1 year of previous legal collection experience in a high-volume collection and/or customer service environment is preferred.
- Competency in Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
- Familiarity with CLS is a plus, as is an in-depth understanding of state and federal consumer protection laws and client requirements/standards, although training will be provided.
- Strong time management skills and self-motivation are essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- The ability to multitask, pay high attention to detail, understand internal processes and systems related to debt collections, and learn quickly are necessary skills.
Salary Information:
- The salary range for the Compliance Audit Assistant position is to hourly.

Travel:
- The position requires up to 0-5% travel, excluding local commute.
