Job Title: Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Specialist

Job Responsibilities:
The Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Specialist at the law firm is tasked with supporting the firm's inclusive talent development initiatives. Their primary responsibilities include:

- Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the growth, effectiveness, and maturation of employee resource groups (ERGs).
- Collaborating with ERG leaders to create annual plans and goals that align with the firm's DE&I strategic plan.
- Continuously assessing ERG structures and recommending enhancements to improve engagement and impact.
- Leading and supporting the execution of ERG-wide and firm-wide ERG events.
- Facilitating connections between the law firm’s ERGs and external organizations such as law school student affinity groups and student bar associations to support the firm’s long-term recruitment strategy.
- Driving communication regarding the value and achievements of ERGs to the broader organization.
- Developing strategies to engage current clients in ERG partnerships and collaborating with client relationship partners to create collaborative ERG opportunities.
- Facilitating support for ERG members involved in client partnerships.
- Partnering with People and Culture and Business Development teams to provide training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities that foster an inclusive environment.
- Contributing to the assessment and refinement of firm mentorship, sponsorship, and development programs through a DE&I lens.
- Tracking programs and initiatives against key performance indicators to demonstrate progress and effectiveness.
- Staying informed about employee development, ERG, and DE&I best practices and systems.
- Performing other duties as apparent or assigned.

Education and Experience Information:
- A 4-year degree with major coursework in Human Resources, Social Work, Communications, or a related field, or a combination of education and commensurate work experience is required.
- At least 4 years of experience independently managing projects across departments is preferred.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience working in a diversity, equity, and inclusion environment is preferred.
- Experience working in a law firm is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with multiple ERGs is required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of people are necessary.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a drive to connect with colleagues and new team members to understand practice needs are essential.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity as appropriate to each situation is required.
- The ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple projects simultaneously with little direction is necessary.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.

Salary Information:
The compensation for the Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Specialist position at the law firm varies based on skills, experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. The expected salary ranges for this position in various states and jurisdictions are as follows:

- State of California: $60,000 - $114,000
- State of Colorado: $55,000 - $98,000
- State of Illinois: $54,000 - $105,000
- State of Massachusetts: $60,000 - $114,000
- State of Maryland: $58,000 - $88,000
- State of Minnesota: $60,000 - $99,000
- Jersey City, NJ: $65,000 - $117,000
- State of New York: $56,000 - $120,000
- State of Vermont: $59,000 - $113,000
- State of Washington: $58,000 - $110,000
- Washington, .: $77,000 - $113,000

These salaries do not include a discretionary bonus, which is non-guaranteed and dependent upon individual and firm performance.
