Job Title: Courtroom Clerk I
Job Responsibilities:
Courtroom Clerks perform intricate legal clerical tasks to support judicial officers in the Superior Court. Key duties include:
- Attending court sessions to document and prepare the official minutes of proceedings.
- Administering oaths and impaneling juries, as well as maintaining jury attendance records.
- Receiving, marking, and maintaining exhibits.
- Reading verdicts and polling juries.
- Supporting independent calendar departments in civil, family, or probate law by calendaring activities, preparing notices, and resolving scheduling issues.
- Providing authoritative information on court policies, procedures, or specific cases.
- Utilizing and maintaining automated case management tracking systems.
- Filing, preparing, and processing various court documents for civil, criminal, juvenile, family law, probate, small claims, or minor offense cases.
Education and Experience Information:
Minimum qualifications for applicants include:
- At least two years of full-time experience as a Court Operations Clerk, or four years of full-time legal clerical/secretarial experience, including preparing, processing, and reviewing legal documents.
- An educational substitution is available: A paralegal certificate from an accredited college or university, or an Associate's degree (or higher) in business or a directly related field may substitute for up to one year of the required two years of Court Operations Clerk legal clerical/secretarial experience.

- The position is permanent and full-time.
- The eligible list from this recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies in all court locations.
- Courtroom Clerks may be assigned to any area or work location as needed by the Court.
